Zoom in font  Zoom out font Published: 2012-07-03  Origin: agriculture  Views: 56
Core Tip: Pasture conditions across the Plains, Midwest and several other states worsened in the latest week from already poor ratings.
USDA rates nearly two-thirds of pasture acres on average across Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, Missouri and Kansas at poor to very poor. The latest ratings compared with an average of nearly 49% in the two categories previous week.

Areas of severe drought stretch into Nebraska, Arkansas and western states. For the 48 continental states, 43% of pasture acres rated poor to very poor, compared with 34% a year ago when the southwest was hit particularly hard.
