Core Tip: American agribusiness company Cargill has launched Truvia, a stevia-based sugar substitute, in Venezuela, as a part of its effort to strengthen its position in the stevia-based sweetener category.
According to the company, this move comes after Truvia consumer products and ingredient businesses experienced growth across Europe and North America.

Truvia vice president and business director Zanna McFerson said this market launch represents the continued expansion of the Truvia business in response to the growing consumer demand for natural, zero-calorie sweetness.

"With the opening of the Venezuelan market, Truvia consumer products are now available in seven countries on three continents," McFerson added.

Recently, Truvia business launched several products in the US. The products include Truvia Baking Blend, a blend of sugar and Truvia natural sweetener, and Truvia 'Behind the Bar', a solution for food service establishments.

In France, the business introduced a new pouch to refill the popular spoonable jars of Truvia calorie-free sweetener.

Truvia natural sweetener is a zero-calorie sweetener developed from the stevia leaf.
