Core Tip: UK-based supermarket chain Waitrose has launched new ‘oyster leaf’, a fleshy green leafed vegetable which can be used to replace the taste of oysters for those living a vegetarian lifestyle.
The company noted that the oyster leaf features the saltiness of an oyster. It can also be served with white fish, adding an interesting element to seafood dishes.

With the launch of the new product, the company seeks to build up on the popularity of the sea vegetables with a similar saltiness, which were launched in 2011.

Oyster leaf will be available in Waitrose over the next four to six weeks for £1.99 for 20g pack.
