A spokeswoman said the proposed job cuts were part of a restructuring that was intended to reduce the cost-base and produce efficiencies at the plant, and employees have entered a 30-day consultation period.
Outsourcing distribution
Part of the plan involves outsourcing distribution, but she said the proposed cuts were across the entire business and not just in distribution.
The spokeswoman said the company regretted the impact of job losses, but that some of the outsourced jobs would be protected under TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment) regulations, and it was hoped that some employees would transfer to the new distributor.
The company employs 623 people at the site, which was opened at a cost of £93.5M in September 2010 and has the capacity to produce and bottle 1.5Ml of Coca-Cola beverages every day for customers across Ireland.
