El’s Kitchen to set up snack production facility in US

Core Tip: El’s Kitchen, a producer of gluten-free snacks, plans to establish a production facility in Stratford, Connecticut, US.
The company has leased a 3,000ft2 space to set up the facility, which is expected to be fully operational in September 2012.

El's Kitchen currently outsources its production, and with the new facility will enable the company to bring together its snack manufacturing, warehousing and office functions. This move is expected to optimize the production and lower costs, reported Gourmetretailer.com.

El's Kitchen president Eleanor El Smith said the new location serves the current requirements, but it will also allow the company to easily expand operation in the future.

The company recently launched two new flavors to its Medleys gluten-free snack mix line - Cheddar and Sour Cream & Onion Medleys.
