Core Tip: The Missouri State Milk Board, Missouri Department of Agriculture and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services are warning consumers not to consume milk products produced by Shatto Dairy of Osborn due to improper pasteurization of milk.
The recall was initiated after the departments found that the residual phosphatase levels are above the standard for Grade A pasteurized milk after routine sampling tests. The products have been sold in both Missouri and Kansas.

These recalled milk products include Whole Milk, unflavored half gallon with date code 19 August; 2% Milk, unflavored pint with date code 19 August; 1% Milk, unflavored quart with code date: 20 August; Skim Milk, unflavored quart with date code 19 August; Half and Half pint with date code 19 August; Whole Milk, Cotton Candy flavor pint with date code 20 August; and Cream pint with date code 17 August.

Residual phosphatase may indicate potentially unpasteurized or improperly pasteurized milk, which may contain harmful pathogens that could result in food borne illness.

The Missouri Department of Agriculture has advised consumers to return the product to the place of purchase or discard them.

Shatto Dairy's operations have been temporarily halted, pending results of the investigation by the State Milk Board and Missouri departments of Agriculture and Health and Senior Services.
