Grand Foods recalls dried mint product over salmonella contamination

Core Tip: Grand Foods is recalling Mint Tr Kuru Nane (Tr) – dried mint in Australia over Salmonella contamination concerns, according to the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ).
The product was sold in 200g packages at Grand Foods retail outlet in Campbellfield, Victoria. It had a best before date of 08/08/2013, and featured clear plastic packaging.

Food products contaminated with Salmonella may cause illness if consumed. FSANZ has advised consumers not to eat this product and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Consumption of food contaminated with Salmonella may cause Salmonellosis, a foodborne illness. Salmonellosis may lead to serious and sometimes deadly infections in young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems.
