Core Tip: Arcadia, a food packaging firm based in Italy, plans to establish a manufacturing plant in the US to manufacture Ovtene – the company’s product which is said to extend shelf life and prevent spoilage.
The company plans to establish a corporate office in Marion, Massachusetts, following which, it will set up the plant, reported Foodproductiondaily.com.

Ovtene was created by the company's CEO Alberto Tomasini and the University of Udine, Italy. The company noted that the new packaging restricts secondary bacterial growth, extends shelf life and postpones spoilage.

While the product is currently produced in Italy, with the new plant in the US, the company plans to boost the production by 20 times.

Ovtene is primarily composed of calcium carbonate talc, titanium dioxide and is held together through high density polyethlyne (HDPE) resins. It is available in rolls, sheets, and bags.
