Milk powder processing plant planned in Australia

Zong Qinghou met agriculture minister Terry Redman and also met officials of the City of Busselton over the plant, according to media reports.

A department spokeswoman said that one Chinese agro-enterprise was interested in dairy processing and potentially other products and consulted local contacts in the South West.

Busselton mayor Ian Stubbs noted that the talks with Zong were confidential, reported the Australian.

Hangzhou Wahaha is a leading drink companies in China, and it produces juice, soft drinks, food. The company owns 60 production bases in 29 provinces in China, employs 30,000 people and posted a turnover of £6.8bn in 2011.
