SingBridge, a Singapore-based developer of large-scale projects in Asia, has signed an agreement to establish food processing facilities in the food zone in Jilin province, China.
As a part of the agreement, SingBridge will set up infrastructure, agriculture, food processing and manufacturing, and agriculture and food technology in the food zone.
The food zone spans 1,450km2 with a core area of 57km2. Currently, three square kilometres of the core area has been developed by the Jilin City Government, reported Channelnewsasia.com.
The Singapore's Ministry of National Development said the country's private sector has taken the lead to drive this project and several companies have successfully negotiated commercial deals at the food zone.
In addition to Singbridge, several companies entered into an agreement to establish infrastructure in the food zone including integrated pig farm, logistics park, and core area.
