Paleteria La Michoacana, a California based manufacturer of Hispanic ice cream treats, has announced that it has shifted its distribution to independent distributors in the Rocky Mountain region and parts of Texas.
The company has signed long term agreements with leading independent distributors of frozen food and ice cream - Frosty Freeze in Colorado; Creamland Dairy in New Mexico; Price's Creamery in West Texas - El Paso; Gandy's Dairies in West Texas - Lubbock; and Affiliated Foods, which covers a 10 state area servicing over 1,000 independent supermarkets.
Paleteria La Michoacana president Ignacio Gutierrez said that the company is seeking to provide more points of sales and better service levels as it continues to grow away from the core California market.
"We are well poised to grow when we decided to bring in new capital in 2011 to finance our growth by becoming more efficient in our plant, expand our distribution and build our service platform," Gutierrez added.
The company noted that new system is expected to support better service levels for customers and provide greater opportunities for the new independent distributors.
