Mexico-based Gunler Foods has broken ground on a $15m facility in Port Arthur, Texas, US, which will bottle and label edible oils such as corn, canola, vegetable and soybeans. The facility will also manufacture paper products.
As a part of the project, the company will build two plants spanning more than 110,000ft2 over an area of 25 acres. While one plant will bottle edible oils, the other will produce tissues, napkins and paper towels.
The construction of the facility, which is located in Texas Triangle Park, is expected to be completed in February 2012, creating 250 jobs. The jobs will include engineers, low-skilled positions, quality assurance and management
Gunler President Erick Garcia said the company chose Texas Triangle Park for the facility due to the proximity to North and Latin American markets as well as significant rail capacity.
Gunler is a Mexican-based company that is a supplier to Walmart International and a producer of packaged food, nutritional supplements, edible oils, sauces and related products.
