COTi has introduced Peanut Butter Max to market at this year’s annual Gulfood trade show in Dubai being held from February 17 – 21, 2019.
Focussing on quality ingredients such as roasted peanuts and Fair Trade-certified cocoa, COTi Chocolate Manufacturers have embraced these emerging consumer trends to create the world’s first zero added sugar peanut butter bar: Peanut Butter Max, according to a press release issued by the company.
“We thought it fitting to introduce a world first at the world’s largest annual food and beverage trade exhibition,” stated Chris Parkin, MD, COTi Chocolate Manufacturers.
Halaal-certified by the South African National Halaal Authority (SANHA), the product comes in two variants: milk chocolate with zero added sugar and milk chocolate with 11g of protein, both containing Maltitol instead of sugar, offering half the calories and a lower GI index. The use of Maltitol lowers the likelihood of tooth decay and cavities, while the peanut butter helps sustain energy levels.
“Consumers are increasingly seeking improved and healthier snacking options, specifically ones that offer lower sugar levels (and less guilt),” said Parkin.
“This is the innovative space that Peanut Butter Max occupies – a great tasting, convenient and permissible snack for consumers on-the-go.”
