PepsiCo plans to invest about $38m on a new high-tech warehouse distribution system for its Frito-Lay factory and distribution center in Killingly, Connecticut.
The move will boost efficiency at the plant, which services Connecticut and other Northeast retailers and exports products for the military overseas.
State financial assistance will be provided by the Department of Economic and Community Development, with up to $3m in Urban and Industrial Sites Reinvestment Tax Credits, and Connecticut Innovations (CI), with up to $1m in Sales & Use Tax Exemptions.
PepsiCo invested more than $66m in an expansion project at Killingly in 2010, adding more than 70,000 square feet and installing new machinery and equipment.
