Dr. Sabine Eichner has been appointed director of the German Frozen Food Institute (dti). She will assume the post in 2013, replacing Susanne Hofmann, who will retire at year's end for health reasons. The dti director is the spokesperson and source of information for the German frozen food industry, which, with annual sales of some 12 billion euros, is one of the major elements of the whole food branch.
In her three years as director Frau Hofmann initiated and implemented important projects, earning high recognition in the institute and the industry. Dr. Eichner, 51, was previously director of the German Food Industry Association (BVE), and brings to the dti many years of experience in association work, extensive knowledge of the food branch and a network political contacts.
