In the period between January and May of this year, Peruvian exports of canned artichokes amounted to US $27,972,681, i.e. 22.7% more than the US $ 22,796,219 achieved in the same period of 2016.
This was pointed out by the AgrodataPerú portal, which also stated that in the first five months of 2017, Peru exported 9,933,144 kilos of canned artichoke, or 16.2% more than the 8,545,659 kilos dispatched in the same period of the previous year.
The main exporting companies of canned artichokes during the analyzed period were: Danper Trujillo with exports for US $ 6.3 million, i.e. 23% of the total exported, and Sociedad Agricola Viru with US $ 5.7 million (20%).
The main destination market for Peruvian canned artichokes during the first five months of this year was the United States, which purchased US $ 17,902,516, and concentrated 64% of the total.
It was followed by Spain, which accounted for 23% of the Peruvian supply, France which acquired 7%, the Netherlands 1%, Germany 1%, Canada 1%, and others 3%.
