Albertsons, a part of the Supervalu family of grocery stores, has extended the recall of ground beef products imported from Canada to US by XL foods voluntarily. The recall was made over E.coli contamination.

The beef products were sold in all stores in Washington and Oregon, as well as three stores in Northern Idaho: Coeur D Alene, Hayden and Lewiston.

Albertsons initiated the recall after Interstate Meat Distributors informed Albertsons that certain products distributed to it in these areas contain beef that is subject to the recall.

The products being recalled are Fresh Ground Beef Patties 80/20, Fresh Ground Beef Chub 73/27, and Fresh Ground Beef Chub 73/27.

Affected products are no longer available for sale in any Albertsons stores, and no illnesses linked to products sold at Albertsons have been reported. Customers are requested to return the affected products for a replacement or refund.
