Hanover Pike, a company based in Hampstead, Maryland, is recalling jelly and jam products across the US as they may contain soy and milk, which are not declared on the label.
The products affected by the recall are 8 ounce and 4 ounce jars of Hot Pepper Jelly and Green Pepper Jelly; and 4 ounce and 9 ounce jars of Blackberry Brandy Jam and Peach Brandy Jam.
These items were distributed nationwide through retail stores and via the company website under the label 'Jill's Jams Mixes and More' or 'Jill's Jams and Jellies'.
People who have allergies to dairy products may experience allergic reactions if they consume these products. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this situation.
The company noted that retail stores who have these products in inventory will be furnished with an additional label indicating these allergens as ingredients. Consumers with dairy or soy related allergies, who have purchased these products have been asked to return them to their place of purchase.
This recall was initiated after it was identified that the products containing milk and soy were distributed in packaging that did not list milk or soy as ingredients.
