Continental Mills divests Industrial Food Coatings business

Continental Mills, a US-based prepared flour mixes manufacturer, has sold its Industrial Food Coatings business to Newly Weds Foods for an undisclosed amount.

Newly Weds Foods is a privately-held company in Chicago, Illinois, which operates industrial manufacturing facilities across the US and internationally.

The sale includes a 55,000ft² manufacturing facility in Oregon. The transaction has been completed on 9 October 2012.

Continental Mills president and chief executive John Heily said the deal enables the company to invest and focus on its branded business which include Krusteaz pancake and baking mixes and Ghirardelli brownies and cookie mixes.

Continental Mills has other licensed brands as well and the company distributes its products to retail, foodservice, and club store channels across the US.
