US-based cereal producer Kellogg is recalling certain boxes and bowls of Mini-Wheats cereal as they contain fragments of flexible metal mesh from a faulty manufacturing part.
The products being recalled include only Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size Original and Mini-Wheats Unfrosted Bite Size with the letters KB, AP or FK before or after the best before date.
These products have Better if Used Before Dates between 01 April 2013 and 21 September 2013.
Kellogg's Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size Original cereal packs with UPC codes 3800031829, 3800073444, 3800031834, 3800046954, 3800031921, 3800004961, 3800021993 and Kellogg's Mini-Wheats Unfrosted Bite Size cereal packs with 3800021983 and 3800035982 are included in the recall.
These affected products were sold in 18oz., 30oz. and 70oz. packs.
Kellogg said that it would take a charge of between $20m and $30m in the third-quarter of the current fiscal as a result of this recall, reported The Wall Street Journal.
