Leading experts from India and abroad would be present to pass on their knowledge in this practical forum for the benefit of professionals in packaging development, production, design and marketing. The conference is being organised by the Institute of Packaging Machinery Manufacturers of India (IPMMI) and the Indian Flexible Packaging and Folding Carton Manufacturers Association, supported by Messe Dusseldorf and Messe Dusseldorf India Pvt. Ltd.

Organisers' note

One of the organisers said, “The trade fair duo (dti and International PackTech India) continues to grow. The number of exhibitors showcasing their products at the 2012 edition is approximately a third more than it was two years ago. They will present a wide range of products at the exhibition, slated to take place in Mumbai from November 6-8, 2012.”

“India is still considered to be one of the most attractive markets in the world. The middle-class population of the subcontinent is expected to grow to approximately 580 million by 2025 – a predominantly young and consumerist section of the society. Every year, about 60 per cent of the country's gross domestic product is spent on private consumption. Despite a slight weakening of the growth forecasts, Indian consumers are the most optimistic worldwide, and are still in a buying mood,” they said.

Messe Munchen and Messe Dusseldorf stated, “So the conditions are ideal for everyone active on the Indian market for food and beverages, whose business prospects and those of their suppliers and equippers are considered to be very good in the long-term. However, the use of state-of-the-art technology and processes is essential, in order to be able to meet the customers' rising expectations.”

“As a central information and ordering platform, dti and International PackTech provide an international range on offer. The full range of products for the packaging, packaging printing, processing, beverage and food and liquid food industry will be presented at the two trade fairs,” they said.

The fact that dti and International PackTech India act in concert is amply demonstrated by the participation of the German companies. In fact, the German pavilion will have 16 companies. Apart from the aforementioned countries, there could be a joint presentation from the United Kingdom and a French pavilion.

“A couple of years ago, about 201 exhibitors from 22 countries showcased their products, and it was attended by over 6,000 trade visitors,” the organisers informed.

The concentrated know-how of the two fair organisers and the synergy effects between the packaging, processing and the food and beverage industries were received with great interest in the booming economic area of India,” a statement issued by the organisers said.

The organisers also assured all those engaged in these industries that the conference would be also a fair forum.
