The fourth edition of drink technology India 2012 or drinktec India, the international trade fair for beverage and liquid food technology, organised by Messe Munchen GmbH, commenced here at Bombay Exhibition Centre on November 6, 2012.
The event is co-located with the seventh edition of International PackTech India, a trade fair for processes, packaging and printing, organised by Messe Dusseldorf GmbH. The twin fairs have witnessed the participation of over 220 exhibitors from 19 countries. Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and China are participating with international pavilions at the three-day event.
drinktec India was partnered by KHS, Krones, Pentair, Sidel and Siemens, and supported by VDMA. PETplanet was the forum organiser. Agility Fairs and Events, Neureuter Fair Media, Litmusmeroform and Rogers Worldwide were the service partners.
PackTech was supported by the ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises, Government of India; Interpack Processes and Packaging; VDMA; the Institute of Packaging Machinery Manufacturers of India (IPMMI), Mumbai; and the Indian Flexible Packaging and Folding Carton Manufacturers Association (IFCA). The Government of Maharashtra was the partner state of the event.
PackTech programme
The International PackTech India 2012 conference will be held on November 7, 2012.
The topics for the first session (11.05 am-1.30 pm) are technology development in product packaging through FFS system; new concepts in HFFS and VFFS technology and conversion technologies, and fully-automated bagging technology - general and product-specific (milk powder etc.).
The topics for the second session (2.15 pm-4.30 pm) are plasma technology - improving ink, coating adhesion to films/labels, sleeves; instrumental technologies - in gas packed foods (MAP) and permeability, and solutions for beverage packaging - technology for close systems.
There will be two sessions on November 8, 2012. The topics for the 10 am-11.30 am session will be slip and grip sheets - for improved and economical storage and handling and developments in folding board cartons - for food, beverage and liquor sectors.
The topics for the 11.45 am- 1.15 pm session will be packaging waste management - recycling technologies and current global mandate - bar codes.
