British multinational beverage can maker Rexam is set to showcase a prototype of its new FUSION Contour bottle at BRAU Beviale 2012, as part of its plan to target new consumers.

Based on the company's Drawn Wall Ironed (DWI) technology, FUSION Contour retains the main qualities of original FUSION bottle, while maintaining its key functional elements and graphic potential.

The latest bottle is shatterproof, safe, cold to the touch and, infinitely recyclable, lightweight and re-sealable, claims the company.

New product development marketing manager Kym Hamer said: "The launch of the original FUSION bottle gave our customers an unrivalled opportunity to evolve and reinvent their brands and target new audiences. We are seeing consumer trends constantly evolving and the FUSION Contour bottle is being developed to help our customers capitalize on these changes."

BRAU Beviale is an European trade fair for the production and marketing of beer and soft drinks. The 2012 event will be held in Nuremberg, Germany from 13-15 November.
