A group of Sheffield University has developed a new ale, Bees Knees Bitter at the Blue Bee Brewery in Neepsend.

The students, who are part of Sheffield Student Union's Real Ale Society, have brewed 2,500 pints of the ale, which has been officially launched at the Student Union.

Bees Knees Bitter, which will be on sale across Sheffield and other places, is likely to be put up for sale in the Strangers' Bar at the House of Commons.

Sheffield MP Paul Blomfield, who extended his help to the student group in preparing about four percent of the new ale, is all set to take the brew to the Commons, as part of his support to the city's microbrewing industry, reported The Star.

Society president Nathan Rodgers said, "Taking a beer made by students in Sheffield to the bar in the House of Commons in Westminster is an incredible prospect."
