Pinot Grigio producer Fernando Pighin & Figli has selected Kobrand Corporation, a US-based importer of wines and spirits, to launch the 2011 vintage of its Sauvignon Blanc in the US.
Fernando Pighin & Figli claims that the wine is produced without malolactic fermentation or oak contact.
The Sauvignon Blanc is a blend of two clones, 70% Rauscedo 3 and 30% Clone 108 of Sancerre origin.
The wine has intense and persistent aromas of tomato leaves, with notes of wild green peppers and elderflower.
Founded in 1963, the family-run estate produces two Pinot Grigios from two properties Friuli Grave and Collio in Friuli.
Located between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea, Grave and Collio are considered to be Friuli's best areas for the production of quality white wines.
Kobrand is the exclusive agent and/or sales and marketing partner for a selection of fine wines and spirits including Sequoia Grove, Appleton Estate Jamaican Rum, Alize Passion Liqueurs, Depaz Blue Cane Amber Rhum, Café Boheme Coffee Crème Liqueur and Delamain Grande Champagne Cognacs.
