The recession hasn’t hut McDonald’s, according to a Dec. 7 Yahoo! Finance report. The fast food chain is in 114 countries and sells over 75 burgers each second. A whopping 68 million people eat at McDonald’s each day.
McDonald's
If burgers aren’t your thing, McDonald’s has you covered with gourmet coffee, chicken sandwiches, salads or the McRib. Some locations offer pizza, burritos and other specialty items. The World’s Largest McDonald’s, located in Orlando, has a café with a menu featuring quesadillas, turkey sandwiches and other items not available on the regular menu.

The company brings in enough money each year to make them richer than the country of Mongolia. They hire over a million workers each year in the United States alone. McDonald’s estimates one in every eight Americans has worked at one of the chain’s restaurants at some point in their life.

Celebrities who have worked at McDonald’s include Sharon Stone, Shania Twain, Pink, Rachael McAdams and Jay Leno.

Here are some more fun facts about McDonald’s:

  • They are the world’s largest toy distributor.
  • They mailed hamburgers to U.S. athletes in France during the 1968 Olympics.
  • More people recognize the golden arches than the Christian cross.
  • McDonald’s delivers in 18 countries.
