US-based beer distributor J.J.Taylor is planning to acquire Chisago Lakes Distributing for an undisclosed amount.

The acquisition, which is expected to be finalised in a few days, will expand J.J. Taylor's geographic distribution area and add new beer brands to its distribution list, according to bizjournals.com.

Chisago Lakes' distribution area includes all of Anoka, Chisago, Hennepin, Isanti, Ramsey and Washington counties as well as portions of Dakota, Kanabec, Pine, Scott, Sherburne and Wright in US and distributes beers of Summit Brewing, Pabst Brewing , Shmaltz Brewing and Avery Brewing

Established in 1924, Chisago Lakes Distributing employs 35 members and operates a 30,000ft² warehouse and seven delivery trucks.

J.J. Taylor has nearly 1,000 employees and distributes approximately 26 million cases of beer per year through its Minnesota and Florida branches.

The beer portfolio of J.J. Taylor includes Summit, August Schell Brewing as well as national players such as MillerCoors, Heineken USA, Diageo Guinness USA and New Belgium Brewing.
