Cayman Spirits, a Cayman Island-based producer of Seven Fathoms Rum, has started construction of a new distillery and visitor center at the Island.
Established in 2007 at the Cayman Cabana building in George Town, the company is known for its Seven Fathoms Rum and Governor's Special Reserve.
Cayman Spirits owner and co-founder Nelson Dilbert told cayCompass.com that the company is at its full speed with the construction of new 5,000ft² distillery and visitors centre.
"The new distillery will have a new 1,000 gallon still made by the largest still manufacturers in the US, Vendome, and a new vodka column from the oldest still manufactures, CARL Stills in Germany. The new facility will be eco-friendly with geothermal cooling," said Dilbert.
Located on the Bronze Road in Industrial Park, east of Esterley Tibbetts Highway, the new facility will allow the company to add vodka and Caribbean whiskey to its liqueurs portfolio.
Cayman Spirits owner and co-founder Walker Romanica was quoted by the website as saying that with the expanded location, they can offer more comfortable tours for visitors.
