Core Tip: Peninsula Beverage (PenBev) said that it has achieved a 20% increase in forecast accuracy at the item/plant level with the implementation of Logility Voyager Solutions.
Peninsula Beverage (PenBev), a South Africa-based bottler and distributor of Coca-Cola products, said that it has achieved a 20% increase in forecast accuracy at the item/plant level with the implementation of Logility Voyager Solutions.

The advanced supply chain management software can quickly generate and track forecasts for multiple business needs, including sales, marketing, logistics and financials, claims Logility.

The Voyager Solutions automatically alert users about changes in the market through exception management and can readjust the forecast ahead of changes in demand.

PenBev said that since deploying Logility Voyager Solutions it has centralized its demand planning, improved service levels and reduced inventory by 25% while increasing on-time, in-full order fill rates from 94% to 99%.

PenBev supply chain director Andre Cloete said that with the earlier supply chain processes the company was unable to scale operations cost-effectively.

"Since implementing Logility Voyager Solutions we have seen a significant improvement in forecast accuracy, the ability to classify and prioritize A, B and C items, and an increase in service levels. With these improvements we are now able to focus on improving our collaboration to share forecasts across a broader business group," he added.

Logility president and CEO Mike Edenfield said: "We are helping PenBev build a strong and flexible S&OP process that is capable of boosting visibility and supporting their long-term business strategy."
