Pernod Ricard-owned ultra-premium Scotch whiskey brand Chivas 18 has teamed up with Italian car design company Pininfarina to launch three limited editions - Chivas 18 by Pininfarina.
Each limited edition features a bottle of Chivas 18 with logo embossed on the capsule and neck wrap that was designed by Pininfarina.
The first edition features a blue, metallic finish outer case and a wood veneer that resembles oak casks used for maturing Chivas 18 whiskey. The bottle fits within the groove made in the capsule. It retails for $145.
Pininfarina's second design features same design cues as that of first edition but is added with more aerodynamic shape and solid wood inlay. Along with the bottle, the design houses two glasses that fits in the capsule. It retails for $579.
The third edition, Chivas 18 Mascherone by Pininfarina, is made from mascherone, a wooden frame used to refine the shape of cars during the design process. It is not yet priced.
Chivas Regal has produced only five of the Chivas 18 by Pininfarina that will be showcased globally, including Russia, China, the UK, the US and travel retail from January 2013, whereas individual designs can be purchased on order.
