Journalist, television personality and cookbook author David Rosengarten has rolled out three Michel Gonet Blanc de Blancs Champagnes under his newly started wine import business in the US.
The three Blanc de Blancs Champagnes are 2002 Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru, 2004 Nude Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru and 2004 Prestige Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru.
With flavors of yeast, grilled bread, aged Cognac, licorice and vanilla, 2002 Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru pairs well with foods like Parmigiano-Reggiano, sweetbreads or preserved lemon. The 2004 Nude Champagne is a blend of 50-60yo 100% vines sourced from Grand Cru vineyards in Mesnil.
Both the Champagnes retail for $68 each, reported Wine Business.com.
The 2004 Prestige Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru, which retails for $84, possesses aromas of honey, white blossom and quince.
