Bartletts bowl Cambridgeshire root crop specialist Alan Barlett & Sons has this week introduced a new range of fresh soups to their growing brand portfolio - ʻBartlettʼs Bowlfullsʼ.

The premium quality soup range will be sold exclusively in Tesco stores throughout East Anglia and London from the 14th January with further rollouts planned nationwide in the coming months.

The innovative range consisting of three variants; Carrot and Ginger, British Onion and Parsnip and Honey is the first commercially available fresh soup ʻgrower brandʼ to hit the shelves of a major retailer.

What sets it apart from its competitors is that all fresh ingredients used to create the soups are grown exclusively on the Alan Bartlett and Son farms – to ensure a focused offering with provenance at its heart.

“All our soups are manufactured with a very high fresh vegetable content which sets them apart from the rest. Our benchmarking has revealed that consumers enjoy the fresh taste and texture of our soups but also respond positively to the fact that the brand offers locally sourced seasonal produce direct from the farm,” explained Toby Bartlett, Commercial Manager at Alan Bartlett & Sons.

The ʻBartlett Bowfulsʼ launch will be supported with a series of regional tasting events, promotional marketing and in-store activity that will look to cross promote the soups with the established fresh products.

“We are delighted that Tesco is the first retailer to introduce the new range onto our shelves. Local has a major part to play throughout the business with recent research highlighting that 54% of our customers are buying more local products than they were five years ago, with 34% buying more local food than they did just a year ago.

Weʼre dedicated to supporting locally sourced products at Tesco and proud to support Alan Bartlett and Sons who have a history of growing produce of great quality and freshness in the heart of Cambridgeshire,” added Simon Dryell, Senior Buying Manager from Tescoʼs Local Sourcing team.

Alan Bartlett & Sons ʻBartlett Bowlfulʼsʼ are priced a £2.20 per 600g serving.
