Boehler Heads US Operations at Americold

Fred Boehler has been appointed executive vice president and chief operating officer at Americold, Atlanta, Georgia, USA, a global leader in temperature controlled warehousing and logistics for the food industry.

Boehler is responsible for US operations, reporting to Jeffrey M. Gault, president and chief executive officer. He joins the company after serving as senior vice president of supply chain with Supervalu, a leading grocery retailer and wholesaler supplying more than 4,300 stores.

Prior to Supervalu he was senior vice president logistics and purchasing at borders group, inc., where he oversaw distribution operations, industrial engineering, logistics planning and purchasing. he holds a bachelors degree in Management Science and Operations from Wright State University and a masters in International Business from Northern Illinois University.

"Boehler is an innovative leader whose strategic and tactical experience will play a fundamental role in improving domestic operations and driving customer satisfaction," said Gault.
"He will be instrumental in strengthening our competitive position and operational performance."

Americold owns and operates 182 temperature-controlled warehouses, with over 1.1 billion cubic feet of storage, in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, China, Argentina and
Canada. Americold's warehouses are an integral component of the supply chain connecting food producers, processors, distributors, and retailers to consumers. Americold serves over 3,000 customers, and employs 12,000 associates worldwide.
