Core Tip: Workers at a Chivas Brothers bottling plant accidentally dumped thousands of gallons of whisky into the sewer after mistaking it for waste water.
Try explaining this to your boss: workers at a Chivas Brothers bottling plant accidentally dumped thousands of gallons of whisky into the sewer after mistaking it for waste water, the BBC reports.

The bulk whisky was discharged Tuesday during the overnight shift while workers were cleaning the equipment at the plant in Dumbarton, Scotland. Chivas Brothers, part of the Pernod Ricard beverage conglomerate, produces several brands of whisky including Ballantine, Chivas Regal and Royal Salute. It’s not clear which brand the dumped spirits were intended for, according to the Associated Press.

Chivas spokeswoman Jennifer Stevenson would not estimate how much whisky was emptied into the sewer, but noted that it was less than earlier media reports of 4,755 gallons, reports the AP.

The company also added in a statement that no whisky seeped into “the River Leven or any other water course.” Sorry, folks.
