US-based MGP has expanded its product range with the addition of new wheat whiskey, which is one of many whiskey and bourbon mash bills launched within the previous year.
The launch is in response to the increasing consumer demand for wheat-based spirits.
The new wheat whiskey is made from mash bill that contains 95% wheat and 5% barley malt. The grain used in the production of wheat whiskey is non-GMO verified, the company claims.
MGP alcohol sales and marketing vice president David Dykstra said that the company's wheat whiskey represents one of the more unique products of its type in the distilled spirits industry.
The product is said to be smooth and exhibits lightly floral and sweet taste characteristics.
MGP currently offers a range of whiskeys, bourbons, grain neutral spirits and distilled gins.
