Australian food processing and canning company Windsor Farm Foods has entered into voluntary administration, leading to a loss of nearly 70 jobs.
The company's manufacturing has been halted and the workers have been terminated without pay.
Administrator Grant Thornton Australia's Trevor Pogroske said that discussions are ongoing with interested parties over the sale of the business.
Unfortunately, it has been necessary to halt the manufacturing and terminate the workforce without pay, he added.
Meanwhile, a number of staff will be retained to complete specific orders and to undertake financial evaluation.
According to AusVeg, the industry body representing Australia's veggie and potatoes growers, the loss of Windsor Farm is blow to country's struggling food processing sector, which has been under pressure from imported foods and the retail sector.
Windsor Farm Foods Group produces canned foods, bakery fillings, fruit bars and dry goods to consumers, retailers and the food services industry.
