ILERFRED's are installing a cooling-storage facility in the Fruitcentre IRTA building of the Agri-Food Science and Technology Park (PCiTAL) of Lleida.

They plan to generate, control and monitor 32 cold storage chambers with a total volume of 1,689.60m, 60 extensible bag medium sized chambers with a volume between 1 and 3m / per chamber, 8 mini container type chambers with their own independent cooling system and 50 micro container type chambers type, all aimed at the research and development of cooling-conservation techniques in line with the market requirements.

The cooling system is from glicolated water, and consists of centralized refrigeration compressors with a total installed power of 272Kw -10 / +45 ° C, air floating condensation and a transducer set to optimize plant efficiency based on the outdoor air temperature and evaporation temperature, with the latest technology capable of achieving the highest performance at the lowest possible energy cost.

This project, also has modified atmosphere installations, capable of servicing all of the aforementioned spaces, chambers, medium sized chambers, mini chambers and micro chambers; in total, 150 refrigerated spaces, independent of each other, which allow, given the continuously evolving demands of the market, to do research and development in countless numbers of cooling-conservation techniques on multiple horticultural varieties at the same time. They can now offer very different solutions.

It incorporates the latest generation machinery, ready to work with the current controlled atmosphere, ULO and Dynamic atmosphere systems, as well as with future techniques that could derive from such research, meeting the most demanding parameters without difficulty.
