Anuga 2013, a leading food fair for retail trade, food service and catering market, will see more than 112 exhibitors and more than 1,000 visitors from India. This information was given to journalists from various media at a round table conference held in Mumbai on Wednesday.
The show, which will be held from October 5 to 9, 2013, at Cologne, Germany, is not only the largest food and beverage fair in the world, but also the sector’s most important fair for new markets and target groups, according to the organisers. They added that it was the venue for all latest trends and themes and a place to make contacts and business deals.
Dietmar Eiden, VP for Anuga 2013, explained, “Anuga trade fair concept is unique, bringing supply and demand together in 10 specialised trade shows under one roof. It will also help sharpen each sector's profile and generate valuable synergies at the same time. In addition, Anuga's nine trend topics focus on all of the key trends of the future.”
He added, “This year, Anuga's will be biggest and we are expecting more than 7,000 companies from 100 countries in a gross exhibition space of 2,84,000 m. Over 1,65,000 trade visitors from 180 countries will be visiting the world’s largest food and beverage fair.”
Eiden stated, “India food industry is growing at a very rapid pace. And there is demand for Indian food in Germany. Through this fair, we are also looking for long- term relationship with India. Even this year, 112 companies, like previous year, will be participating at Anuga. The reason for that is the space has been fully booked.”
