Lidio Carraro, a Brazilian family-owned winery with vineyards in Vale dos Vinhedos and Encruzilhada do Sul in southern Brazil, has unveiled a range of new wines - Faces - for the upcoming Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) 2014 World Cup to be held in Brazil.
The new range of wines was unveiled as pre-selection samples at ProWein trade show.
The company will launch the first red wine under the Faces label in May 2013. All the wines released under the label will be served at FIFA organized events and the World Cup.
According to the company, they will double production and expand distribution for the new deal.
Lidio Carraro marketing director Patricia Carraro told Harpers, "Our family has had much success with this type of project in the past [Lidio Carraro was the official wine of the Pan-American Olympics in 2007] but this FIFA World Cup project is really something even bigger and more exciting."
The winery has a portfolio of still and sparkling wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo, Tannat, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
