Boston Market Corp. is introducing St. Louis-style spare ribs for a limited time. Available in quarter- and half-racks, the bone-in ribs are seasoned, slow-smoked and brushed with a sweet, zesty barbecue sauce.
“This launch is a game changer for us,” said George Michel, chief executive officer. “We intend to own the pairing of rotisserie chicken with St. Louis-style ribs in this country. And we think our customers are going to love it.”
Through a two-year research process that included testing the item in select markets last summer, the fast-casual chain chose the St. Louis-style rib after finding that it yielded more meat than other varieties.
“We’re delivering a meatier, tastier rib with a better price point,” Mr. Michel said.
The ribs are available nationwide as an individual meal with two sides and cornbread starting at $10.99.
