Praxair, a US-based industrial gases company, has purchased the merchant carbon dioxide (CO2) business of Tri-State Carbonic.

Tri-State is a producer of bulk carbon dioxide gas for industrial use in the greater Cincinnati area. It produces beverage-quality carbon dioxide gas for use in various markets, including food and beverage.

The acquisition is expected to expand Praxair's carbon dioxide supply reliability and services.

Praxair produces, sells and distributes atmospheric, process and specialty gases and surface coatings to a wide variety of industries, including food and beverage.
