Malaysia-based quick service restaurants operator, QSR Brands, plans to open around 20 KFC and five Pizza Hut outlets in Singapore, India, Cambodia and Brunei in 2013 under its strategy to expand overseas.

The company is also planning to open 25 KFC and 45 Pizza Hut outlets across Malaysia.

QSR group managing director Datuk Ahmad Zaki Zahid told the star online that the company will set aside MYR245m ($80.6m) for capital expenditure in 2013 to set up new outlets as well as for the relocation and brand enhancement.

Of the total amount to be allocated, MYR180.5m ($59.4m) will be allocated for the local market with the remainder for international expansion, Zahid added.

"This year, we are not looking to penetrate any new market. There is a lot of opportunity for us to grow in our existing markets," Zahid said.

QSR Brands is the operator of Pizza Hut Malaysia and the franchisee for 690 KFC restaurants in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, India and Cambodia.
