The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham) will organise the Bio-Agri 2013 Summit at New Delhi's Hotel Le Meridien on June 19, 2013. The theme of the summit, which will be inauguarated by agriculture minister Sharad Pawar, is “Towards Productive Efficiencies and Farmers' Growth”.
Tariq Anwar, minister of state for agriculture and food processing industries, is one of the speakers at the inaugural session of the summit, which is aimed at providing an excellent platform to expand business ties and networking opportunities among key players in the agriculture sector.
Other speakers include Ashish Bahuguna, secretary, Ministry of Agriculture; Abhijit Sen, member, Planning Commission; K Vijay Raghavan, secretary, Department of Biotechnology; S Ayyappan, secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) and director general, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR); Deepak Pental, director, Centre for Genetic Manipulation of Crop Plants, University of Delhi.
The summit will witness participation from the industry, research and development centres, agriculture institutes, scientists, biotechnologists, opinion leaders, industry leaders, decision makers, R&D heads, farmers and business delegations from India and overseas.
They will discuss in depth and understand the latest developments in and future of biotechnology in agriculture in order to fulfill the aim of making India inch towards greater technical thrust in agricultural sector at the event, for which YES Bank will be the knowledge partner.
