American coffee shop chain The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf plans to open 12-15 new stores in India over the next one year.
The company currently operates 26 outlets in India, including 11 stores in Mumbai and six in Delhi.
Under the expansion plan, the coffee chain recently opened its first franchise store at Elante, a mall of Chandigarh.
Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf India operations head Amit Maheshwari was quoted by The Financial Express as saying that the company has ambitious plans for Punjab region.
In the coming few months, the chain will open franchise outlets at Ludhiana and Jalandhar, the markets which have people with disposable income and exposure to international brands.
Globally, the American coffee chain operates more than 1000 outlets in 29 countries.
