The number of coffee shops in Korea has continued to increase despite concerns that Korea's coffee industry has already reached a satuation point.
According to the market information provider Korea Contents Media Thursday, the number of coffee shops in Korea stood at 15,000 in 2012, up 21 percent from 12,381 in 2011. The number jumped 54 percent in 2011 from 2010.
Industry watchers said the increase reflects the unyielding popularity of freshly-brewed coffee among Korean consumers.
