"We are trying to inspire Canadians to move more in some fun ways while enabling them to make the beverage choices from our products that meet their individual dietary and lifestyle needs," said Nicola Kettlitz, President, Coca-Cola Ltd. "This campaign aims to inform people in a light-hearted way about the concept of energy (calorie) balance, educate them on our products and inspire Canadians to live more active, healthy lives. This week's announcement is our latest effort to help make a positive difference in helping fight against obesity in Canada."
Coca-Cola Canada has launched its latest effort in its campaign to make a positive contribution to help fight obesity in Canada. The commercial, 'Calorie Dictionary' is making its global debut here in Canada on major networks across the country.
This latest commercial builds on its previous actions to provide Canadians with the inspiration, the information and the means to adopt a more active, healthy lifestyle. It focuses on energy (calorie) balance and the amount of activity it takes to burn off calories, and demonstrates fun ways to burn off those calories. It is meant to inform consumers on the caloric value of Coca-Cola and suggesting fun ways to burn calories through EXTRA activity.

In April, Coca-Cola Canada launched its campaign to invite Canadians to come together to help fight obesity in Canada. This campaign has included new investment in active, healthy living programs as well as the launch of a national advertising campaign. The first commercial in the campaign outlines the Coca-Cola Canada's ongoing efforts to educate people about its products, the numerous beverages and package choices it offers and its longstanding support of programs that inspire active healthy lifestyles.
It also encourages everyone to be mindful that all calories count in managing weight, including those in Coca-Cola Canada's products and in all foods and beverages. Earlier this month, The Coca-Cola Company outlined its global business commitments to help fight obesity: 1) Offer low- or no- calorie beverage options in every market; 2) Provide transparent nutrition information, featuring calories on the front of all of our packages; 3) Help get people moving by supporting physical activity programs in every country where we do business; and 4). Market responsibly, including no advertising to children under 12 anywhere in the world.
These efforts are part of a global campaign launched earlier this year.
