Monument Valley Distillers, which crafts small batches of bourbon, whiskey and brandy, is set to develop craft spirits including The Duke brandy and fine spirits.

Monument Valley Distillers was founded in California by Ethan Wayne, son of John Wayne, renowned Vintners of Hundred Acre Wines, Jayson Woodbridge and Chris Radomski, and Richard Howell.

The distillery will launch a limited edition Special Reserve California Brandy initially.

Priced at $350 and aged 24 years, the limited edition DUKE Special Reserve Brandy was distilled in an alambic pot still using seven fraction distillation.

Ethan Wayne said: "I have no doubt he would have been proud to work alongside Jayson and Chris, recipients of multiple 100-point scores for their wines, to realize one of his dreams: To distill fine spirits in a true hand-crafted fashion."

Radomski said: "Honoring the legacy of John Wayne alongside his son Ethan and the creation of The DUKE Spirits gives us the exciting and humbling opportunity to help preserve and enhance the legend of John Wayne for generations to come."
