The New York state appeals court has officially begun hearing the soda ban case.
According to Grub Street, New York Supreme Court Judge Milton A. Tingling overthrew the soda ban a few months ago. Had it been implemented, the ban would have required all New York City eateries to sell sodas at a maximum of 16 ounces, thereby eliminated all jumbo-sized drinks. It seems that the city is not ready to give up on the cause as they appealed the New York Supreme Court verdict.
Now the fate of your extra large drink lies in the hands of the appellate court.
