La Libertad's agroindustrial products, such as blueberries and green asparagus, are scheduled to be shipped directly to New York and Miami from the "Captain FAP Carlos Martinez de Pinillos" airport (Huanchaco) on Airbus 300 aircraft with 43 tons of capacity.

After an important meeting between the La Libertad's Regional Government, through the Foreign Trade, Tourism and Handicrafts Management (Gercetur), with representatives of SUNAT and Customs, Strike airline, Senasa, Pacific Airlines, Chamber of Commerce, Group Pro Region, Ransa and Frio Aéreo, it was announced that the track's PCM (thickness) have already been improved, along with the 300 square meter space that Aeropuertos de Perú (AdP) will rent for the boarding area installation, as well as the operating company's commitment.

The head of Gercetur, Alan Sisniegas Linares, said that thanks to the interest of the companies mentioned above, as well as the support of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, it has been possible to progress all logistical efforts to date, with only a few steps missing: such as, the extension of the airport certificate issued by the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) so that the company that will be in charge of the pre-shipment area installations has the permits to operate in our city, since they currently only have license to work in Lima.

"We are doing the MTC negotiations with the interested companies," said Alan Sisniegas.
