Kedem Europe, a UK-based importer and distributor of kosher wines and spirits, has signed an agreement with Israeli winery 1848 to distribute its wines.
First opened in 1848 by Yitzhak Galina-Shor, the 1848 Winery produces all its wines using premium grapes sourced from the vineyards of the Galilee region of Israel.
Kedem Europe will distribute the winery's Reserve series wines such as Special Reserve 2009 and Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2009; 2nd Generation series wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2010 and Cabernet Sauvignon 2010; and 5th Generation series wines such as White Blend 2010 and Cabernet Franc 2010.
The dark Bordeaux colored Special Reserve 2009 red wine is a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 17% Petit Sirah, and is aged for 28 months in French oak barrels. The dark crimson colored Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2009 wine is a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot and 15% Petit Sirah, and is aged for 25 months in French oak barrels.
The 2nd Generation series wines are created by Israel-based retail wine bar Khamra Rosa founder Rosa. The Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2010 red wine is purplish red in color and is a mix of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% merlot and 3% Sirah, whereas the Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 is a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petite Sirah and 6% Merlot.
The White Blend 2010 of the 5th Generation series is a blend of 70% Chardonnay, 24% Chenin Blanc and 6% Semillon, and the Cabernet Franc 2010 is a blend of 85% Cabernet Franc, 8% cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot.
